Sugar Ruffles is a UK wedding blog covering favours, gifts, remembrance, and the real emotional side of planning your day. We write for brides who want practical ideas and honest reassurance — not another reason to feel overwhelmed.
The Longer Version
There’s no shortage of wedding content online. But so much of it falls into one of two camps: glossy inspiration that makes you feel like your budget isn’t big enough, or generic listicles that don’t actually help with anything. We wanted something in between — content that’s practical, personal, and written in a voice that sounds like a knowledgeable friend rather than a lifestyle brand.
What We Care About
Honesty over perfection. We’ll tell you when something isn’t worth the money, when you’re overthinking a decision, and when the answer is genuinely “it doesn’t matter — do whatever you want.” Not every post will tell you what you expect to hear, but it’ll always be real.
The stuff people don’t talk about. Wedding planning isn’t always joyful. Sometimes it’s stressful, emotionally complicated, or tangled up with grief. Our memorial and remembrance section exists because we think those conversations matter just as much as favour ideas and colour palettes — probably more.
Every budget is valid. We never assume you’ve got thousands to spend. Most of our ideas work on a tight budget, and we’ll always flag when something’s going to cost more than you’d expect. A beautiful wedding is about intention, not money.
No pressure, ever. We’ll never tell you that you “must” do something, “need” a particular product, or “can’t” skip a tradition. Your wedding, your rules. We’re just here to help you figure out what those rules are.
